Differences between Hadith Qudsi, Hadith Nabawi & The Quran

There are so many Islamic scholars who distinguished among two types of Hadith which are phrased as Al-Hadith An-Nabawi and Al-Hadith Al-Qudsi. The sayings that are known as Al0Qudsi are only means Holy or sacred. These are the sayings which the prophet (p.b.u.h) linked them to his companions. He explained that Allah Almighty had converses them in effect to him but these are not the part of Quran. These types of reports are added within the group of Al-Hadith Al-Qudsi.

We can quote one Hadith here just for example that has been reported by Abu Huraira. Muhammad (p.b.u.h) said that: “If My servant likes to meet Me, I will love to meet him. And if he dislikes meeting Me, I dislike meeting him.” The common thing in Al-Hadith Al- Qudsi and the Quran is that both relate to the words of Allah which were reveled to Muhammad (p.b.u.h) through the Angle Jibril (A.S).Both are nonetheless separate from each other on the following points.

The Quran contains the exact words of Allah while Hadith Al-Qudsi conveying the message of Allah by Muhammad (p.b.u.h) to his own wordings.

We learn Quran in every prayer while Hadith Qudsi can’t be recited in any prayer.

Hadith Qudsi is the kind of statement that Muhammad (p.b.u.h) refers directly to Allah and Hadith Nabawi is the kind of statements in which the deeds and the things that occurred in the time of Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and he permitted them. The number of Hadith Qudsi is round about one hundred with ethical and spiritual subjects. Thus the difference between Quran teaching and Hadith is only the words of Allah which mentioned in Quran purely and in Hadith with Muhammad’s own wordings.
